Updated: Jul 29, 2021

Managing Director and Chief Content Officer (CCO) of Reeton Media, Sheree Mutton recently shared her top content marketing tech tools with Women Love Tech.

“The content marketing technology landscape is growing exponentially year on year. While a strong content strategy and skilled content marketers are key for execution, there’s a rising number of content marketing tech tools that are facilitating the creation of high-quality content and aiding audience growth,” Sheree told Women Love Tech.

“Content marketers have hundreds of tools at their disposal to help with everything from content ideation and creation, to the optimisation and promotion of content. Some have a subscription fee, while many others are free.”

So which tools did Sheree reveal are the best to help you reach your content marketing goals for 2021?

1. HubSpot

HubSpot is a giant in the content marketing landscape. “Within HubSpot, there are different marketing tools, which can help develop and pull your entire content marketing strategy together,” Sheree told the publication. Their blog software is particularly useful and can help you optimise blog content and drive traffic to your website.

2. Ahrefs

“Publishing content that isn’t optimised is a wasted opportunity,” explained Sheree. Known as SEO, Search Engine Optimisation is a term for the techniques used to improve a website’s visibility on search engines. “Ahrefs has a suite of SEO tools for link building, keyword research to help you boost your traffic.”

3. Canva

This Australian tech ‘unicorn’ company is used by millions of people every day. “Canva basically allows you to become your own graphic designer, helping you to build high-quality content – whether that be social media material, eDMs, presentations, flyers, infographics, short videos, reports or magazines,” explained Sheree. “The suite of imagery, graphics and fonts is endless. Even graphic designers love Canva!”

4. BuzzSumo

“BuzzSumo is a dream tool for content marketers,” said Sheree. Why? “It essentially allows you to analyse what content performs best.” Pick a topic or one of your competitors and find out all the details to help your content marketing reach its full potential.

5. MailChimp

MailChimp was launched two decades ago and is a fantastic marketing tool for all types of businesses. “It’s simple to use and so many small businesses utilise it to create and track their email marketing campaigns.”

6. HootSuite

“Social media is an integral part to content marketing and building a brand, but posting on numerous platforms, multiple times a day can be overwhelming. That’s where Hootsuite comes in. It allows you to manage multiple social media networks in the one place, saving valuable time,” said Sheree.

7. Trello

Trello is an organisational powerhouse, allowing you to keep abreast of current projects and track progress. “It will ultimately help you communicate with team members more efficiently and streamline marketing efforts.”
